Technical / Product Publications, Engineer
You Are
You find clarity in complexity and know that good documentation is about what engineers can actually use when solving a problem, not just what looks complete. Writing energizes you, but so does understanding how something works well enough to explain it clearly. You ask the follow-up questions until you understand the workflow, not just the feature list. At Synopsys, you will document IP libraries and EDA tools that power semiconductor design.
What You'll Be Doing
- Creating documentation and training materials of complex tools and methodologies catering to Virtual Prototyping tools.
- Creating GUI-based procedures/lab exercises on real-time use cases.
- Co-ordinate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and design teams to seek inputs and review feedbacks.
- Well versed with Windows and Linux platforms and ability to use the complex tools.
- Work on strict timelines and deliver docs with expected quality.
- Maintain the docs/trainings to be always in sync with the latest tool version.
- Be a good team player and contribute to meeting team assignments.
- Adhere to the conventions as per the Synopsys Style Guide in documentation.
The Impact You Will Have
- Engineers using Synopsys IP and EDA tools will find answers faster because your documentation is clear, structured, and actually matches how they work.
- Product releases will ship with complete, accurate documentation that reduces support escalations and improves customer experience.
- Design teams will spend less time answering the same questions because the manuals you write cover the right scenarios in the right depth.
- Documentation quality and consistency will improve across the product line as you apply and refine Synopsys style standards.
What You'll Need
- B.Tech//B.Sc/ MCA in Computer Science with basic programming knowledge and entry-level experience writing technical documentation (e.g., user manuals, developer guides, or product documentation).
- Strong command of written English with attention to grammar, structure, and clarity; familiarity with American English spelling conventions.
- Hands-on experience authoring in DITA XML and comfort working directly with XML code.
- Familiarity with software development life cycles and document development life cycles.
- Ability to learn new tools and technical domains quickly, ask clarifying questions, and translate complex information into usable content.
- Experience with Oxygen Author or similar structured authoring tools is a strong plus.
- Background in EDA, semiconductor, or technical software documentation is a plus.
Who You Are
- You are comfortable managing multiple documentation projects at once, tracking reviews, and keeping stakeholders aligned without losing details.
- You push back when a review comment is vague or contradictory, and you work with SMEs to get to the real answer.
- You treat deadlines seriously and know how to scope work so documentation ships when the product does.
- Work with the team to deliver the doc deliverables on time for every release with high quality standards.
- You will use the JIRA Issue tracking system to fetch the details on the required doc changes and follow the outlined procedure to address the requests.
- You will use all the automations setup in the team and follow the Styleguide to author the DITA XML topics.
- Follow integrity and strive to meet the release deadlines.
- Use AI-driven setup to add automation in editing XML documents.
The Team You'll Be Part Of
You will join a technical publications team that works closely with product development, IP engineering, and EDA tool teams across Synopsys. The team collaborates across geographies to document complex semiconductor design tools and methodologies, ensuring that engineers worldwide have the resources they need to use Synopsys products effectively.
Rewards and Benefits
We offer a comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits to cater to your needs. Our total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings. Your recruiter will provide more details about the salary range and benefits during the hiring process.
At Synopsys, we want talented people of every background to feel valued and supported to do their best work. Synopsys considers all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, military veteran status, or disability.
