We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You are someone who likes to own your block from schematic through silicon. You have spent time running SPICE simulations, poking at testbenches, and learning what can go wrong in deep-submicron CMOS. You know that a good layout review is as important as a good schematic, and you are not shy about jumping in with layout engineers to make sure nothing gets missed. You are comfortable with EDA tools, and you write your own scripts to automate what should not be manual. You want to understand why a circuit behaves the way it does, not just that it passes validation. You ask questions, share what you know, and listen when someone has seen a problem before. You are looking to expand your skills in architecture-level decisions and want to work on high-speed designs that show up in real products for AI, cloud, and automotive.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing, simulating, and validating analog and mixed-signal circuits with a focus on high-speed SerDes interfaces, including AFEs, DFEs, clocking circuits, and regulators in advanced CMOS technologies.
  • Partnering with layout engineers to review, guide, and optimize custom layouts, minimizing parasitic effects and ensuring performance targets are met.
  • Making architecture-level and circuit-level tradeoffs to optimize power, performance, area, robustness, and reliability.
  • Developing, verifying, and documenting comprehensive testbenches for rigorous pre-silicon validation.
  • Driving robustness and quality sign-off, including PVT, mismatch, aging, reliability, and yield analysis.
  • Collaborating with global engineering teams to share knowledge, resolve complex technical challenges, and advance analog design methodologies.
  • Supporting silicon bring-up, characterization, and correlation, ensuring alignment between silicon results and design specifications.

The Impact You Will Have

  • Deliver reliable analog and mixed-signal designs that enable high-speed connectivity for AI, cloud, automotive, and next-generation products.
  • Help the team avoid costly late-stage surprises by catching design, layout, and validation issues early.
  • Raise the technical rigor of cross-team discussions and design reviews by bringing practical expertise and clear communication.
  • Improve silicon quality and performance by ensuring thorough validation and robust sign-off across PVT and reliability corners.
  • Shorten the path from design to production by supporting efficient bring-up and accurate correlation between simulation and silicon results.
  • Strengthen the team’s design methodologies by sharing knowledge and best practices across global sites.

What You'll Need

  • MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent, with strong expertise in transistor-level circuit design.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design, preferably in high-speed mixed-signal circuits.
  • Solid knowledge in advanced CMOS technologies and receiver architectures.
  • Proficiency with EDA tools, SPICE-based simulators, and advanced simulation methodologies.
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments, with scripting skills in TCL, Python, or similar languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform architecture tradeoff analyses and deliver production-quality silicon.
  • Strong experience collaborating on custom analog layout and driving post-layout optimization.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to work effectively across functional teams.

Who You Are

  • You review both schematic and layout, catching issues that others might miss and raising questions that matter.
  • You approach validation with a mindset to find real problems, not just check boxes.
  • You mentor and support colleagues, sharing what you know and helping them avoid common pitfalls.
  • You communicate design decisions clearly, making sure teams in different locations and disciplines stay aligned.
  • You organize your work and documentation so that others can follow your thinking and build on it.
