You Are:

You are an experienced software engineer who enjoys working close to the metal in large, mature C++ codebases. You take pride in writing clean, maintainable code, and you find satisfaction in supporting and evolving APIs that other engineers rely on every day. You communicate clearly, collaborate easily across teams, and you're comfortable owning a problem from triage through delivery.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Maintaining, extending, and supporting the public APIs of the Ansys Mechanical product.
  • Triaging, diagnosing, and resolving customer-reported defects across the API surface.
  • Working closely with internal product teams and external API consumers to understand needs and ship improvements.
  • Writing unit tests and contributing to the long-term health of the codebase.

  • Directly enabling the workflows of customers and partners who build on top of the Mechanical product.
  • Improving the reliability, consistency, and longevity of one of the most widely used simulation platforms in the industry.
  • Strengthening a codebase that powers engineering decisions across industries worldwide.


What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or similar field.
  • 3 to 5yrs of Strong C++ proficiency is required.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, especiallyJavaScript and Python,forrapid prototyping and workflow automation. 
  • Strong analytical and algorithmic problem-solving skills, with a focus on scalable and efficient solutions. 
  • Experience with unit testing, debugging, and code optimization in complex software systems. 
  • Familiarity with development tools such as Microsoft Visual Studio, Git, and GitHub. 
  • C# experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio, Git, and GitHub.
  • Comfortable working on both Windows and Linux.
