- Get acquainted with isogeometric analysis (IGA) in LS-DYNA by creating new models and running/troubleshooting simulations.
- Conduct literature surveys and study relevant publications on advanced topics such as locking in non-linear isogeometric shells/solids and local refinement schemes like THB-Splines.
- Implement, test, and evaluate selected concepts within a user-defined interface developed by our expert team; analyze results, refine existing concepts, and develop best-practice guidelines.
- Collaborate regularly with developers, write detailed technical reports, and present findings to Ansys teams.
- Currently studying towards a Master’s degree in Engineering or a related STEM subject with a minimum grade of 1.0–2.0/5.0 (German grading scale).
- Motivated to learn, with strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to write, understand, and present in fluent English.
- Knowledge of Continuum Mechanics and Computational Solid Mechanics is preferred.
- Authorized to work in Germany and able to work at the advertised location without relocation assistance.
- Preferred: Experience with computer languages, numerical algorithms, fundamentals of high-performance computing, Linux OS, and a general understanding of IT hardware and systems.
- Program Length: 6 months part time as a working student, with the option to extend to a master's thesis project.
- Location: Stuttgart, Germany
- Working Model: In-office
- Full-Time/Part-Time: Part-time, 20 hours per week.
- Start Date: January 2026.
