At Synopsys, we drive the innovations that shape the way we live and connect. Our technology is central to the Era of Pervasive Intelligence, from self-driving cars to learning machines. We lead in chip design, verification, and IP integration, empowering the creation of high-performance silicon chips and software content. Join us to transform the future through continuous technological innovation.

You Are:

You are a highly skilled and passionate engineer with extensive experience in quality management and manufacturing of high-speed digital and high-density electrical interconnect products. You thrive in environments where the stakes are high and the pace is fast, leveraging your expertise in connectors, cables, and PCBs to deliver robust solutions. Your background encompasses the full product lifecycle—from design concept and supplier selection to volume production and end-of-support. You bring a deep understanding of manufacturing processes such as stamping, injection molding, and electroplating, and are adept at driving supplier quality and industrialization initiatives.

You excel in cross-functional engineering teams, building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure consistent quality and process efficiency. Your analytical prowess allows you to swiftly identify trends and prioritize actions using engineering and data-driven methodologies like DOE and Lean 6 Sigma. You are detail-oriented, resourceful, and proactive, always seeking opportunities for improvement and innovation. Your communication skills enable you to bridge technical and business perspectives, ensuring that quality goals are understood and achieved across all levels of the organization and supply chain. You are excited by the opportunity to travel, collaborate globally, and make a tangible impact on the reliability and performance of Synopsys hardware systems.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Owning interconnect supplier quality and supply industrialization from initial design concept through volume production and end-of-support.
  • Leading DFx reviews and driving actions across multidisciplinary engineering teams and contract manufacturers/suppliers.
  • Driving suppliers to complete comprehensive part qualification deliverables, including FAIR, PFD, dFMEA, pFMEA, special process validations, Cpk studies, DFx, operational metrics, PPAP submission/approval, and capacity analysis.
  • Managing supplier industrialization processes—evaluating, selecting, qualifying, and certifying suppliers for volume production readiness.
  • Identifying and tracking quality KPIs, leveraging engineering and data-based processes like DOE and Lean 6 Sigma for continual improvement.
  • Rapidly identifying and managing quality excursions, ensuring clear communication and technical management within Synopsys and across the supply chain.
  • Analyzing complex quality data sets to detect trends, prioritize corrective actions, and collaborate with suppliers on improvements.
  • Overseeing supplier changes, including process optimization, facility updates, and new equipment qualification, ensuring compliance with PCN and PPAP approval processes.
  • Managing product specification changes and effective implementation at suppliers through the ECO change order process.
  • Disposing of discrepant material and driving CAPA initiatives, leading supplier improvement efforts in quality, cost, and production scalability.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining the Supplier Quality roadmap in partnership with the Global Commodity Management team.
  • Leading supplier audits and following up to ensure audit findings are resolved.
  • Traveling domestically and internationally (up to 50%) as required to support supplier and manufacturing operations.
  • Establishing and maintaining product specifications and quality standards.

The Impact You Will Have:

  • Guaranteeing the quality and reliability of Synopsys’ hardware systems through rigorous oversight of manufacturing and supplier quality processes.
  • Driving successful industrialization of supplier processes to achieve volume production, cost efficiency, and high product quality.
  • Facilitating effective cross-functional communication and collaboration, enabling smooth supply chain operations and rapid issue resolution.
  • Championing continuous improvement in supplier performance, fostering innovation, and elevating product reliability.
  • Supporting Synopsys’ mission to deliver cutting-edge technology by ensuring that interconnect products meet the highest standards of excellence.
  • Building strategic supplier partnerships that enhance cost, quality, and on-time delivery (OTD) metrics.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Quality Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in design, manufacturing, or supplier/product quality of complex high-speed interconnects.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical drawings with GD&T and communicate technical information effectively.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, custom cable manufacturing, and quality assurance, including stamping, injection molding, assembly, and electroplating.
  • Expertise in data collection, data analysis, quality action plan presentation, 8D root cause analysis, and metric-driven improvement.
  • Proven proficiency with statistical improvement techniques such as DOE, Lean 6 Sigma, Cp, and CpK.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, PLM software, statistical analysis tools, and other enterprise software platforms.

Who You Are:

  • Meticulous and detail-oriented, with a passion for solving complex problems.
  • Exceptional communicator, skilled at conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptable and resilient, thriving in dynamic and fast-paced environments.
  • Proactive and organized, able to juggle multiple priorities and projects.
  • Collaborative team player, fostering positive relationships within and outside the organization.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:

You will join a dedicated team responsible for the manufacturing, quality, and reliability of Synopsys’ hardware systems. The team’s mission is to uphold the highest standards of quality and efficiency in the production of interconnect products.
