What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements for customers across the Asia-Pacific region, ensuring compliance with local laws and Synopsys standards.
  • Providing comprehensive contract support to Synopsys affiliates in Asia-Pacific and other regions, facilitating smooth business operations.
  • Offering regional legal counsel on a wide range of matters, including corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and government relations.
  • Guiding internal business managers through problem-solving processes, interpreting legal requirements, and adapting department policies to evolving legal, business, and technology landscapes.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex legal issues, analyze alternative solutions, and implement effective recommendations.
  •  Negotiating and collaborating with internal clients and external customers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5-7 years of legal experience, preferably in the EDA or semiconductor industry.
  • LLB in Taiwan or JD in the US, with a valid license to practice law in either jurisdiction.
  • Demonstrated expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements (licensing, procurement, marketing) in English.
  • Excellent bilingual skills in English and Chinese, with the ability to practice law in both languages.
  • Significant experience at a large Taiwan company or a foreign-invested entity in Taiwan; experience in other Asia-Pacific countries is a plus.
  • Strong analytical abilities to evaluate legal and business factors and exercise sound judgment within defined policies.
