We Are

Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.

You Are

You have spent the better part of two decades in digital implementation, and somewhere along the way you realized that the best tool in the world does not matter if your customer cannot actually use it to ship their chip on schedule. You know the difference between a methodology that looks good in a deck and one that survives contact with a real 7nm design with tight power budgets and a tapeout deadline three weeks out.

You have led teams before, not just managed them. You know how to pull someone through a tough debug session at 9pm and also when to step back and let them own the win. You are comfortable walking into a room with a customer's engineering director, understanding their PPA problem in the first fifteen minutes, and sketching a path forward that their team can actually execute.

You do not need to be the smartest person in the room, but you do need to be the one who connects the dots between what R&D built, what the customer needs, and what your team can deliver. At Synopsys, you will work with some of the most advanced digital design teams in the world, and what you build with them will end up in chips that matter.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead customer engagements across Japan to deploy digital design methodologies including synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and power optimization for advanced node designs
  • Solve complex technical challenges alongside customer engineering teams, diagnosing bottlenecks in their flows and tuning tool configurations to hit PPA targets
  • Deliver technical training and hands-on guidance to customer teams on tool usage, methodology best practices, and advanced implementation techniques
  • Manage and mentor a team of applications engineers, balancing project delivery, technical growth, and customer relationship ownership
  • Serve as the voice of the customer to Synopsys R&D teams, translating field issues and feature requests into actionable product feedback that shapes tool development
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key customers, understanding their roadmap and aligning Synopsys solutions to their long-term design challenges
  • Drive adoption of new capabilities and methodologies within customer organizations, moving beyond individual project wins tosustaineddeployment across their design teams

The Impact You Will Have

  • Enable customers to achievetapeoutsuccess on advanced node designs by resolving critical PPA and timing closure challenges that would otherwise delay or derail projects
  • Accelerate customer productivity and design quality by establishing repeatable, optimized flows that become the foundation formultiple chipprograms
  • Grow the technical capability of your team, turning strong engineers into trusted customer advisors who can independently lead complex engagements
  • Influence the Synopsys digital implementation roadmap by surfacing real customer pain points andusecases that R&D would not see without your field perspective
  • Strengthencustomer relationships at the executive and engineering leadership level, positioning Synopsys as a strategic partner rather than a tool vendor
  • Expand Synopsys footprint within accounts by demonstrating measurable value and building credibility that opens doors to new design teams and projects
  • Shape how the next generation of chips gets built by helping customers adopt methodologies and techniques that define industry best practices

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 15+ years of hands-on experience in digital design and implementation, with deep expertise in synthesis, place-and-route, timing analysis, and power optimization
  • Proven track record leading and managing engineering teams, ideally in a customer-facing applications or solutions engineering context
  • Direct experience deploying digital implementation tools and methodologies with customers, including troubleshooting complex design issues and driving successfultapeouts
  • Strong technical communication skills in both Japanese and English, with the ability to explain complex tradeoffs to customer executives and work through detailed technical issues with their engineering teams
  • Experience with advanced node design challenges (7nm and below) and familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools for digital implementation is a strong plus
  • Knowledge of low-power design techniques, protocols like AMBA, USB, PCIe, orDDRx, and hands-on tool experience with leading digital implementation platforms will set you apart

Who You Are

  • You can walk into a customer meeting, listen to a vague description of a timing closure problem, ask three clarifying questions, and know exactly where to look first
  • You have managed people through hard projects and know the difference between coaching someone through a learning moment and stepping in to unblock them when the schedule is real
  • You are comfortable presenting to a VP of Engineering about why their flow is not scalingand alsositting with their staff engineer at a terminal debugging a clock tree issue
  • You do not wait for permission to push back when a customer request does not make sense or when your team is being set up to fail, you surface it early and propose an alternative
  • You treat customer success as your success, not because it is in a mission statement somewhere, but because you have seen what happens when a team you supported ships a chip that works
  • You know how to balance the urgency of a customer escalation with the long-term health of your team, and you do not let one destroy the other

The Team You'll Be Part Of
