We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You are someone who finds satisfaction in understanding how things break before they ever reach production. Circuit-level analysis is not abstract theory to you, it is a puzzle you solve with layout editors, spice simulations, and a clear mental model of what happens when current flows through real silicon. You have worked in EDA environments long enough to know that the difference between a tool that works and one that frustrates users often comes down to details most people overlook.
Working across teams does not intimidate you. You can sit with QA to reproduce a corner case, then turn around and explain the root cause to a product engineer without losing technical precision. You do not wait for perfect documentation. You dig into the problem, ask the right questions, and move forward with what you know.
Staying organized matters to you because you are usually juggling multiple issues, validation runs, and customer escalations at once. You follow up. You close loops. You share what you learn because you know the next engineer will hit the same wall if you do not.
At Synopsys, you will work on EDA tools that power IC signoff and signal integrity analysis for chips that end up in cars, data centers, and AI systems. The work is technical, the team is sharp, and what you contribute will matter.
What You'll Be Doing
- Analyze and validate circuit-level and physical design solutions using EDA tools like Ansys Totem, IC layout editors, and spice simulators to support IC signoff and signal integrity workflows
- Apply your knowledge of IC layout, simulation, and IREM analysis to identify and resolve design issues related to electromigration, ESD, and signal integrity
- Collaborate with R&D, product engineering, and application teams to troubleshoot complex technical challenges and deliver solutions that hold up in production environments
- Support development and validation of EDA methodologies and flows, contributing to feature enhancements and ensuring tools perform accurately under real-world design conditions
- Investigate issues flagged by QA, customers, or internal teams, provide root-cause analysis, and implement fixes that prevent recurrence
- Participate in tool qualification, regression testing, and release validation to ensure stability, performance, and correctness of EDA products before customer deployment
- Stay current with industry best practices in IC signoff and signal integrity, and apply that knowledge to improve product quality and engineering efficiency
The Impact You Will Have
- Improve the accuracy and reliability of Synopsys EDA solutions used in IC signoff analysis across automotive, AI, and high-performance computing applications
- Enable design teams to catch critical issues earlier in the flow, reducing costly respins and accelerating time to market
- Contribute to signoff methodologies that set industry standards for electromigration, signal integrity, and physical verification
- Enhance customer satisfaction by delivering timely, technically sound resolutions to complex semiconductor design challenges
- Build deep expertise in EDA and semiconductor design while shaping tools that thousands of engineers depend on daily
- Help Synopsys maintain its leadership position in silicon design by ensuring our tools meet the demands of next-generation chip development
- Support a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing that raises the technical bar across the team
What You'll Need
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience
- Experience working with EDA solutions at an EDA company, semiconductor design company, or semiconductor foundry
- Proficiency with tools such as Ansys Totem, IC layout editors, spice simulation tools, or other commercial CAE, CAD, or EDA software platforms
- Familiarity with circuit-level analysis, including understanding of current flow, parasitic extraction, and design rule impacts
- Working knowledge of scripting languages such as TCL, Python, or Perl for automation and workflow support
- Experience with IC signoff flows, signal integrity analysis, or IREM validation is a strong plus
- Exposure to customer-facing technical support or application engineering is a plus
Who You Are
- You approach problems methodically, breaking down complex technical issues into testable hypotheses and actionable steps
- You communicate clearly across functions, whether you are explaining a simulation result to QA or walking a product team through a design tradeoff
- You stay organized under pressure, managing multiple tasks and customer escalations without losing track of follow-ups or deliverables
- You are curious and adaptable, comfortable learning new tools, methodologies, and design techniques as the technology evolves
- You value collaboration and knowledge sharing, contributing to team learning and helping others solve problems more effectively
- You bring a sense of urgency to your work, understanding that delays in validation or issue resolution can ripple across customer schedules
The Team You'll Be Part Of
You will join a dynamic and diverse engineering team focused on developing cutting-edge EDA software solutions. The team is comprised of expert professionals dedicated to innovation, quality, and collaboration. Together, you will tackle complex challenges in semiconductor design, verification, and IC signoff, driving advancements that empower customers across the globe.
