You Are

You have spent years learning that the best technical sales conversations are not about features, they are about understanding what keeps an engineering director up at night and connecting that problem to a solution they did not know they needed. You know how to walk into a room with a VP of Engineering, ask three questions, and leave with a clear picture of where their product development process is breaking down and what it would take to fix it.

You do not pitch, you translate. When a customer describes a simulation bottleneck or a design challenge, you can map that back to specific capabilities and articulate the business case in language that resonates with both engineers and executives. You are comfortable in technical depth, but you never lose sight of the outcome: helping customers ship better products faster.

Building relationships is not a tactic for you, it is how you work. You stay close to your accounts, you know their roadmaps, and you show up with ideas before they ask. You manage complexity across internal teams and customer organizations without dropping threads. At Synopsys, you will sell solutions that genuinely change how engineering teams work, and you will do it in one of the most technically demanding markets in the world.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own the full sales cycle for engineering simulation solutions across an assigned territory in Beijing, from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and close
  • Build and maintain deep relationships with engineering leaders, R&D managers, and C-level executives at key accounts, understanding their product development challenges and aligning Synopsys solutions to their business outcomes
  • Develop account plans that map customer profiles, competitive landscape, whitespace opportunities, and multi-year growth strategies
  • Coordinate across Synopsys marketing, technical presales, legal, and support teams to deliver proposals, demos, and proof-of-concept engagements that address customer requirements
  • Deliver accurate pipeline forecasts and maintain clean opportunity data in CRM, providing visibility into new business and renewal revenue streams
  • Represent Synopsys at trade shows, technical seminars, and customer events to expand your network and generate new opportunities
  • Partner with channel partners in your territory to drive joint sales efforts and extend reach into accounts where indirect engagement makes sense

  • Build long-term partnerships that position Synopsys as a trusted advisor, not just a vendor, creating stickiness and renewal momentum
  • Surface customer feedback and market insights that inform product development and go-to-market strategy for the broader Synopsys team
  • Contribute to the growth and maturity of the Beijing sales organization by sharing best practices and mentoring newer team members
  • Expand the reach of Synopsys solutions into emerging application areas and customer segments within your territory

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field with 4+ years in technical sales, or 8+ years of technical sales experience without a degree
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in complex, enterprise-level technical sales environments
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin, with the ability to conduct business conversations, presentations, and negotiations in both languages
  • Understanding of engineering analysis, simulation, or product development workflows, you should be able to speak credibly with engineers about their work
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within your territory and occasionally beyond
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline, forecast accurately, and maintain account records
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating across global teams and time zones

  • You treat customer feedback seriously and bring it back into the organization in a way that gets heard and acted on
  • You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, whether that is an unclear customer requirement, a shifting internal priority, or a competitive situation that requires creative positioning
  • You build trust by showing up prepared, following through on commitments, and being honest when you do not have an answer
