You have spent over a decade in SoC verification, and somewhere along the way you realized that the hardest part of the job is not just catching bugs, it is building a team that catches them before they become expensive problems. You know what good verification looks like because you have written testbenches, debugged waveforms at 2 a.m., and closed coverage gaps on complex subsystems yourself. Now you lead teams through that same work, and you are good at it.

You understand customer engagements are not internal projects. Scope creeps, requirements shift, and timelines compress. You have learned to read between the lines when a customer says "we need verification support" and figure out what they actually need, then translate that into a plan your team can execute without drama.

Managing seven engineers across multiple projects means you spend your day context-switching between technical reviews, customer calls, and mentoring conversations. You do not micromanage, but you also do not disappear. You know when to step in and when to let someone work through a problem. At Synopsys, you will lead verification work that directly enables customers building chips for AI, automotive, aerospace, and high-performance computing. The work is real, the customers are demanding, and your team will depend on you to keep it all moving.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and manage a team of 7-8 SoC and subsystem verification engineers working on customer engagements across automotive, aerospace, defense, and high-performance computing domains
• Work directly with Synopsys customers to scope verification activities, define deliverables, and translate their technical challenges into actionable verification plans
• Assess project complexity and resource needs, then propose staffing and timeline plans that actually hold up under execution pressure
• Mentor engineers daily on verification methodology, debug strategies, coverage closure, and customer communication, growing their technical depth for future assignments
• Review testbench code, verification plans, coverage reports, and waveform analysis to provide feedback that improves quality before deliverables go to the customer
• Report project status to senior management, flag risks early, and work through execution issues with peers and stakeholders across SSG, sales, and business unit application engineering teams
• Drive adoption of Synopsys verification tools including VCS, Verdi, and Synopsys VIP within customer projects, and collaborate with internal teams to refine methodology and improve efficiency

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electronics Engineering or related field with 12+ years of hands-on experience in SoC verification
• Deep technical expertise across pre-silicon verification including UVM testbench development, coverage analysis, verification planning, and complex debug using waveform tools
• Strong working knowledge of industry-standard protocols such as PCIe, Ethernet, USB, DDR, and familiarity with processor, interconnect, or debug architectures
• Proven hands-on experience with VCS, Verdi or similar waveform analyzers, and integration of third-party VIP including Synopsys VIP
• Demonstrated ability to lead verification teams through complex SoC, subsystem, or IP verification projects from planning through delivery
• Experience managing verification scope, timelines, and resources for customer-facing projects or service engagements is a strong plus
• Solid understanding of ASIC design flows, RTL design concepts, and how verification fits into the broader chip development lifecycle

• You push back when a customer asks for something unrealistic or when internal stakeholders propose a plan that will not work, and you do it in a way that keeps the relationship intact
• You communicate clearly with engineers, customers, and executives, adjusting your level of detail depending on who is in the room without oversimplifying or overcomplicating
• You treat mentoring as part of the job, not an extra task, and engineers on your team get better at verification because you invest time in their growth

The Team You'll Be Part Of

You will join the System Solutions Group (SSG), a team that delivers end-to-end SoC design and verification services to Synopsys customers. SSG works on everything from subsystem blocks to full turnkey SoCs, serving customers that range from startups to industry leaders across high-performance computing, automotive, aerospace, and defense. Your verification team will collaborate closely with architects, RTL designers, and post-silicon teams, and you will work alongside peers in other SSG functions, sales, and Synopsys business unit application engineering teams to deliver customer engagements and refine internal methodology.
