We Are
Synopsys is the leader in engineering solutions from silicon to systems, enabling customers to rapidly innovate AI-powered products. We deliver industry-leading silicon design, IP, simulation and analysis solutions, and design services. We partner closely with our customers across a wide range of industries to maximize their R&D capability and productivity, powering innovation today that ignites the ingenuity of tomorrow.
You Are
You have spent years designing hardware that has to survive the real world, not just pass a design review. You know that the difference between a system that ships and one that gets redesigned six months in usually comes down to how well mechanical, electrical, and thermal constraints were understood early, and you are the kind of engineer who asks those questions before the first prototype gets built.
You are comfortable moving between SolidWorks models and cross-functional meetings without losing sight of what you are actually building. When an electrical engineer tells you the board layout changed, you do not panic, you figure out what it means for enclosure clearances, airflow, and assembly sequencing. You think in systems, not just parts.
You like hard problems that sit at the intersection of disciplines. Designing a rack system that handles thermal loads, meets serviceability requirements, and actually fits the components the electrical team just added is the kind of challenge that makes you better at your job, not frustrated by it.
At Synopsys, you will work on HAPS emulation platforms that help semiconductor companies prototype and verify their designs. The team is small enough that your work matters, and the problems are complex enough to keep you learning.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with the System Architect to define product specifications, translating system-level requirements into mechanical design constraints and documentation
- Design, model, and release mechanical components and assemblies for HAPS modules, infrastructure, and rack systems using CAD tools like SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX
- Create detailed mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and bill of materials documentation for manufacturing and production release
- Manage procurement workflows for mechanical components, working with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality, cost, and timeline targets are met
- Validate designs through prototyping, testing, and cross-functional review, iterating based on thermal, electrical, and serviceability feedback
- Collaborate daily with electrical and thermal engineering teams to resolve integration issues, optimize layouts, and ensure system-level performance
- Use product data management tools like Teamcenter to track design revisions, manage releases, and maintain configuration control across product lifecycles
The Impact You Will Have
- Improve the mechanical robustness and manufacturability of HAPS emulation systems that enable faster semiconductor prototyping and verification
- Reduce time to market for next-generation emulation platforms by streamlining design-to-production workflows and eliminating late-stage integration issues
- Enable better thermal performance and system reliability through thoughtful mechanical design that accounts for real-world operating conditions
- Strengthen cross-disciplinary collaboration by bridging mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineering perspectives in system-level decision-making
- Contribute to Synopsys' leadership in hardware-assisted verification by delivering emulation platforms that customers depend on for critical design work
- Support the adoption of new technologies and design methodologies that will shape future HAPS platform generations
- Help build a design and documentation foundation that scales as the product line grows and evolves
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in electronic hardware design, product development, or mechanical engineering for complex assemblies
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX, with the ability to create production-ready models and drawings
- Experience with product data management systems like Teamcenter or similar PLM tools for managing design releases and configuration control
- Strong understanding of printed circuit board assemblies, enclosures, thermal management, and electromechanical integration
- Experience with Siemens NX is a plus, as is familiarity with rack-mounted systems, high-density electronics packaging, or emulation hardware
Who You Are
Curious: You enjoy exploring and learning new technologies.
Collaborative: You thrive in cross-functional team environments.
Innovative: You propose and implement creative solutions to complex problems.
Adaptable: You are comfortable working across multiple aspects of product development.
Detail-Oriented: You consistently deliver high-quality, precise work.
The Team You'll Be Part Of
The team spans both mechanical and electrical disciplines, providing a system-level perspective on product architecture. Together, you will contribute to delivering industry-leading emulation solutions.
