You Are:

You are a highly motivated and innovative individual currently enrolled in a Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering program, or similar. With a solid theoretical and practical background in high-speed data recovery circuits, you are eager to apply your knowledge in a real-world setting. You are familiar with Verilog and SystemVerilog and have experience writing scripts in languages such as Perl and Unix shell. As a team player, you communicate effectively and are willing to collaborate with a diverse group of engineers. Your attention to detail and problem-solving skills makes you an excellent fit for a dynamic and fast-paced environment.


What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Collaborating with a highly experienced mixed-signal design team to verify current and next-generation Ethernet SERDES products.
  • Assisting in the definition and development of ASIC RTL design and verification at both chip and block levels.
  • Writing and optimizing scripts using Perl and Unix shell to streamline design processes.
  • Utilizing Verilog and SystemVerilog to support design and verification tasks.
  • Participating in team meetings to discuss project progress and challenges.
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of our IP Prototyping Kits and IP subsystems.

  • Enhance the quality and reliability of Ethernet SERDES products.
  • Reduce integration risks and accelerate time-to-market for our products.
  • Contribute to the ongoing innovation in high-speed data recovery circuits.
  • Support the development of robust IP development methodologies.
  • Help maintain Synopsys' leadership in chip design and verification.


What You’ll Need:

  • Experience writing scripts in languages such as Perl and Unix shell.
  • Familiarity with Verilog and SystemVerilog.
  • Currently enrolled in a Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering program, or similar.
  • Solid theoretical and practical background in high-speed data recovery circuits.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

The Team You’ll Be A Part Of:

You will be part of our Solutions Group in Ottawa, starting in May 2025 for a 16-month internship. Our team focuses on the broad DesignWare IP portfolio, including standard cell libraries, embedded memories, embedded test, analog IP, interface IP, security IP, embedded processors, and subsystems. We invest extensively in IP quality, comprehensive technical help, and robust IP development methodology to enable designers to reduce integration risk and accelerate time-to-market.
