ASIC Digital Design - Principal Engineer

Overview

Synopsys is a worldwide leading supplier of semiconductor IP, which is used by our customers to design semiconductor integrated circuits. The product portfolio includes IP components and subsystems for Security, USB, DDR, PCIe/CXL, CPU cores, processor peripherals, embedded memories and much more.

For the Security IP hardware team, we are looking for a Principal Architect and Designer who will join in the development of IP cores and subsystems to extend the product portfolio for Security IP. This is an extremely challenging and exciting position in an era where (the lack of) embedded system security is frequently causing headlines in the global news. The Synopsys Security IP is targeting the most efficient silicon design solution with the highest level of security. 

Key responsibilities

  • As a key member of the R&D team, join in leading the architecture, digital design, and analysis of cryptographic Security IP products
  • Follow industry and market trends in cryptographic standards and countermeasures; work closely with peers to apply this knowledge to Synopsys products
  • Refine and deliver high performance hardware and software designs
  • Collaborate with security experts, both from internal and external sources, to develop Security IP solutions with a focus on performance, features and countermeasures

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters, in Computer/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • Expert with architecture, RTL design and synthesis solutions to meet timing at high frequencies
  • Experience with Differential Power Analysis (DPA) and Timing Analysis (TA) countermeasures
  • Experience with symmetric and asymmetric algorithms implemented in hardware
  • Experience with developing optimal hardware solutions for side channel countermeasures
  • Experience with all development stages: investigation, design, implementation, modeling, verification, product release, product support
  • Ability to break down and explain complex algorithms and issues to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to adapt to working with a variety of groups from different disciplines
  • Candidate will be a proactive problem solver who takes initiative
