You Are:
You are a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of engineering services and document control processes. You possess strong organizational skills and have a keen eye for detail, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of product documentation. With over 5 years of senior-level experience in document control and engineering services, you are proficient in PLM/PDM systems such as Agile, Arena, or Empower, with a preference for Empower experience. Your background in a highly engineering-centric, high-tech organization with outsourced manufacturing enables you to navigate complex issues and exercise sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working effectively with diverse teams and building strong partnerships both internally and externally. Your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, allow you to train and support global employees and supply chain partners. You are also proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a solid understanding of [Sharafali Shaherwalla] MS Excel [Sharafali Shaherwalla] formulae and functions like V-lookup, Hlookup, and Pivot. Additionally, you bring some experience as a quality analyst, further enhancing your ability to contribute to the success of Synopsys.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Define and lead the Engineering Services department, developing processes and maintaining the PLM/PDM system as a reliable single source of truth for product manufacturing data.
- Support and train Synopsys global employees and Contract Manufacturers/Suppliers.
- Oversee product documentation, including part number creation, nomenclature standardization, BOM structure, lifecycle status, document workflows, ECO processes, approval flows, and documenting ECO status in the supply chain.
- Drive cross-functional alignment, ensuring partnerships are built and maintained with internal and external groups. Support and drive high-quality throughput via efficient, effective, and collaborative Document Control/Engineering Services methodologies.
- Manage and standardize the distribution and tracking of Synopsys product documentation.
- Lead projects that are business transformational with respect to PLM system, integration, and business process flows.
The Impact You Will Have:
- Ensure accurate and timely distribution of product documents and change notifications across Synopsys and its supply chain partners.
- Maintain the reliability and accuracy of the PLM/PDM system, supporting efficient product manufacturing processes.
- Enhance cross-functional collaboration, driving high-quality and efficient document control processes.
- Improve change order processing, ensuring accuracy and timely implementation at supplier organizations.
- Support the consistent application of Good Manufacturing/Documentation Practices in records maintenance.
- Contribute to the overall success of Synopsys by ensuring the availability and accessibility of critical product documentation.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, with a preference for a degree in engineering.
- Over 5 years of senior-level document control/engineering services experience.
- Proficiency in PLM/PDM systems such as Agile, Arena, or Empower, with a preference for Empower experience. Experience with SAP ERP [Sharafali Shaherwalla] preferred.
- Strong understanding of product life cycle within a controlled document management system.
- Knowledge of PLM/document control systems, item master, bill of material structures, change order processes, and engineering and manufacturing documentation types and uses.
